And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayer.
— Acts 2:42
At Grace we hold Small Groups on the first and third Wednesday of the month at 7:15 PM or at a convenient time agreed upon by the members of a group. In our Small Groups we purpose to pray for one another, bear each other’s burdens, and meet the personal needs of those in the group. Small Groups are a fantastic way to get to know others at Grace and to grow in the context of healthy Christian community.
We value our small groups as a means of regularly having fellowship and prayer together in a smaller, more personal setting. These gatherings are one key way of getting to know fellow saints better. They provide a setting in which we can confide our blessings and our burdens and can cultivate a life together in which we rejoice with one another in our joys and feel for one another in our concerns and needs. The primary aim is not study and discussion but rather fellowship and prayer. Our small groups do not take the place of the church but are a means of strengthening our life together as a church. Like the early church, we purpose to be “devoted to fellowship and prayer” alongside our commitment to apostolic teaching and the ordinances (Acts 2:42). While primarily for members, non-members can participate.
About once a quarter, each Small Group gathers to share a potluck-style meal together to further facilitate fellowship, friendship, and community among the group.
