It is our desire to minister to the seniors of our community and encourage them in a special way. We have several ministry opportunities designed to meet this goal:
Senior Breakfast
All senior citizens 60 and older in our community are invited to attend a special breakfast held on a designated Saturday during the spring, summer and fall. We provide transportation for all who need a ride, please call the Office Phone: (919) 563-9249 or Email: office@nullgrbc.net. During the breakfast, seniors are served a delicious home-cooked meal while they enjoy music, fellowship and a short devotional. This is a relaxing time when seniors can fellowship with friends, both new and old.
Hawfields Presbyterian Home
Two of our pastors are part-time chaplains at Hawfields. Pastor Fortner leads a bible study on Saturday afternoons. Pastor Johnston leads a worship service every Friday morning. He also spends several hours each week visiting residents at the home and seeks to minister to those who are in the hospital. Two to three times a month, a group from our church holds an afternoon Sunday service with the residents at Hawfields.
Hearts & Hands Fellowship
Hearts & Hands Fellowship is a ministry of encouragement, spiritual development, and service for members and attenders approaching the more mature years of life. The ministry inspiration comes from Psalm 92:12-15.
They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing.
— Psalm 92:14
Activities include short trips for entertainment, information, and edification, special social events, and projects of service and outreach in the community.
