As 2 Timothy 2:2 instructs us, we wish to take the truths of God’s Word and “entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” For several years we have given focused attention to raising up the next generation of pastors and church leaders. To this end we have developed a ministerial training program for men who desire to enter pastoral ministry, church planting, or missions.
Our church is located less than an hour from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest. As we are a church in friendly cooperation with the Southern Baptist Convention, we have developed a strong partnership with Southeastern. We have sent some students to Southeastern as well as to other seminaries such as Reformed Theological Seminary, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
The elders regularly meet with students or potential students for study, theological development, academic guidance, and counsel. We aid students in their seminary coursework by discussing course material and providing critical feedback on theological papers.
The eldership oversees a pastoral and missionary internship program. It is a four to five month intensive program that temporarily brings interns on staff to study, learn and minister in a focused way. This program is designed to provide the intern with expanded teaching and ministry opportunities as well as great opportunities for leadership, theological, and pastoral development. For more information abut this program please email the church office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
As opportunities arise, we seek to give our ministerial students opportunities to preach and teach both in our pulpit and through external pulpit supply. If you would be interested in having one of our students preach at your church you can contact our church office at email@example.com.
