Membership

We encourage all believers of the Lord Jesus Christ to attach themselves to a community of believers by joining a faithful, bible-believing church. For those who wish to become part of our church at Grace, we have a process in place by which people can join that we call ‘membership.’ For those who wish to become members of Grace, we require that they, in good conscience, embrace our church constitution and communicate substantial agreement with our confessional statements. Assuming these documents are affirmed, our membership process involves four basic steps:

1. Membership Class

We ask that prospective members take our short membership class taught by one of our elders. This class covers the gospel, the history and theology of our church, and the privileges and expectations of members. These classes are held at different times throughout the year, and interested individuals are encouraged to speak to an elder about their desire to register for this class.

2. Membership Interview

After completing the membership class, the elders will request a membership interview. This is a casual conversation with the elders and provides the individual the opportunity to share his or her testimony of how he or she came to faith in Christ. It is also an opportunity to ask questions about the church and to better get to know the elders.

3. Public Testimony

We usually encourage the individual applying for membership to share his or her testimony publicly with the congregation after a Sunday evening service. This gives the church the opportunity to get to know the new member and to more fully welcome and affirm him or her.

4. Congregational Affirmation

The church is then given the opportunity to publicly affirm the new member by a congregational vote.

If you are interested in pursuing membership, please contact the church office through email office@nullgrbc.net or by phone (919) 563-9249.
